Shadowhunters è una serie televisiva statunitense, molto seguita, uscita su Netflix nel 2016, in cui sono disponibili tutte e quattro le stagioni. Ispirata alla raccolta di romanzi The Mortal Instruments di Cassandra Clare, il genere è quello dell’urban fantasy d’azione, dove non abbiamo un attimo di respiro tra intrighi e la scoperta del mondo Invisibile a Brooklyn.
La storia di Shadowhunters è complessa e ricca di personaggi diversi. Gli shadowhunters sono i personaggi principali: cacciatori di demoni, metà angeli e metà uomini, creati dagli stessi umani prima di venire distrutti dall’invasione di creature provenienti da altre dimensioni. Oltre a questi cacciatori in Shadowhunters abbiamo i Nascosti: vampiri, licantropi, stregoni e fate. The main character of Shadowhunters is Clary Fairchild, a normal student who lives with her mother in an apartment in Brooklyn and after a night out at a club, on her eighteenth birthday she realizes that her life will never be the same again. If, however, you already know all about the story of Shadowhunters, and want to stay in the genre and range, there are some TV series that are worth watching.
The Vampires Diaries
Few have not seen this series, but if you have already done it is time to watch it again, because just like Shadowhunters is so full of twists and intrigue that it never gets boring. La protagonista, Elena Gilbert, vive in Vampires Diaries un brusco cambiamento di vita quando viene a sapere che il suo ragazzo, Stefan Salvatore è un vampiro e la cosa sarà più sconvolgente quando saprà che anche Damon Salvatore, il fratello, lo è.
Come Clary di Shadowhunters, che scopre di essere una guerriera ammazza demoni, abbiamo due vite che dovranno necessariamente cambiare ed evolvere. Ovviamente non mancano i vampiri e creature magiche e tenebrose!
Teen Wolf
In questa serie troviamo Scott McCall, Tyler Posey, che è destinato come Clary a un cambiamento repentino della sua vita dopo il morso di Peter Hale: dovrà trovare un nuovo compromesso tra la sua vecchia vita da adolescente con amori e amici e quella nuova, notturna, da lupo mannaro, nuovo atleta di punta della scuola e gran seduttore. Teen Wolf è disponibile sulla piattaforma Netflix Italia con ben sei stagioni.
The Secret Circle
Sempre in tema con segreti nascosti e poi rivelati abbiamo Secret Circle. The main character is Cassie who, after the death of her mother Amelia, decides to move in with her grandmother in Chance Harbor. Her new friends reveal to Cassie that she is part of an ancient circle of witches that is called the "secret circle" and although she doesn't understand and is incredulous she soon feels her powers grow and she becomes very powerful. In time to fight demons and black magic. So much fantasy also for this series of which we can appreciate every minute of the first season of 22 episodes.
