Best apps and games are finished, also for 2021, in the list made by Apple: here are the names of the winners in each category
As every December, also this year Apple wanted to reward the best apps and the most valuable games that have been able to conquer the owners of devices of the bitten apple. Five categories for each of the two sections, plus a special list based on the most important word of the year, are at the center of the new Cupertino's ranking: here are the excellences of 2021.
That of the double five of Apple is a tradition that is repeated, now, for more than ten years. In addition to appearing on Apple's list, the manufacturers of the winning apps and games will receive a physical prize, a symbol of recognition from the company currently led by Tim Cook. And it was Apple's own CEO, in a post on the computing giant's official blog, who was keen to comment on the teams' dedication during a particularly complex time such as the current one: "From self-taught independent programmers to inspiring leaders creating global businesses, these extraordinary developers have innovated with Apple technology and many have helped foster the deep sense of togetherness we needed this year."
Apple, Best Apps of 2021
The "App" category gave out five awards again this year. The educational application by Toca Boca Toca Life World was recognized as the best for the iPhone, while on the iPad LumaFusion by LumaTouch, dedicated to video editing, was recognized as the best. On Mac, to place at the top was the application Craft, produced by Luki Labs Limited and focused on the editing of notes and documents. Nella categoria Apple TV, la piattaforma di streaming a tema sportivo Dazn ha conquistato tutti mentre, per Apple Watch, la più amata è stata Carrot Weather, app meteo di Grailr.
Apple, migliori giochi del 2021
Nella categoria "Giochi", invece, a guadagnarsi il plauso di Apple sono stati lo strategico League of Legends: Wild Rift prodotto da Riot Games nella categoria iPhone; invece, nei titoli per iPad, l’ha spuntata Marvel Future Revolution, gioco di ruolo sviluppato da Netmarble Corporation. Su Mac ha trionfato Myst, rompicapo di avventura realizzato da Cyan.
Anche Apple Tv ha potuto eleggere il suo gioco più apprezzato, ovvero Space Marshals 3 di Pixelbite, in stile avventura western sci-fi; primo nella sezione Apple Arcade, poi, è stato il gioco di ruolo di Mistwalker, Fantasian.
The word of the year is "Connection
As every year, in 2021 Apple wanted to select a trend recognized as significant for users: this year, the choice fell on the term "Connection", i.e. the ability to bring people together, "while meeting the social, personal and professional needs of users around the world". Deserving the award were the simulation game Among Us! by Innersloth, the dating app Bumble by Bumble Inc, the graphics app Canva by the company of the same name, the platform to discover restaurants owned or operated by people of color EatOkra, by developers Anthony Edwards Jr. and Janique Edwards, and Peanut, an app dedicated to supporting women during every stage of their lives, made by Peanut App Limited.
