Astrological guide for broken hearts: the Italian series arrives on Netflix

The story is based on the homonymous literary success by Silvia Zucca: it will be a brilliant comedy with Italian actors, shot entirely in Turin.

Netflix has announced the release of a new Italian TV series: it will be titled Astrological guide for broken hearts and is inspired by the homonymous book by Silvia Zucca. The show is written and directed by Bindu de Stoppani (screenwriter with Fabrizio Cestaro) and co-directed by Michela Andreozzi.

The shooting has started in these days in the city of Turin, in fact the project enjoys the patronage of Piemonte Film TV Fund and the help of Film Commission Torino Piemonte. While it is produced by Italian International Film - Gruppo Lucisano. It will be a romantic comedy that revolves around the character of Alice Bassi, a single woman who can't find peace, neither from a work nor a love point of view. The situation changes when she meets Tio, an actor passionate about astrology who makes her discover a new way to reach her goals. The all-Italian cast is the icing on the cake and heralds an all-Italian success.

Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts: plot

Alice is a thirty-year-old woman who is unable to find love stability and remains perpetually single. She works as a production assistant at a small local television channel, where despite her high skills she is mistreated. She still thinks about her ex-boyfriend, Carlo, who is getting married and becoming a father.

But one day Davide arrives and everything gets complicated. He's handsome, charming and extremely mean: he's the new creative director whose job it is to make sure the team is productive. Alice goes through this change with ups and downs, until she meets Tio, who opens up a world to her: the world of astrology.

  • Claudia Gusmano (L’allieva) è Alice Bassi
  • Lorenzo Adorni (Bella da morire) è Tio
  • Michele Rosiello (Gomorra: the series) is Davide

Filming has just begun so there's no word yet on a release date for the TV series, though we'll presumably see it in early 2022, because generally Netflix doesn't let more than a year go by after announcing its shows.

In the meantime, we can catch up on reading the novel but also enjoy the platform's new February releases.
