It's called Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders and bears the signatures of Qualcomm and Asus: it's a "showcase" of the best Qualcomm technologies, the price is not very "pop"
An exclusive club dedicated to Snapdragon fans called, in fact, Snapdragon Insiders. It was announced by Qualcomm last March, and now it definitely goes from intentions to facts: if so far the membership gave the right to access tips and preview news about Snapdragon, soon the members will also be able to buy an exclusive smartphone.
That will be, needless to say, very powerful. The Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders, this is its name, is made by Asus but concentrates the best of the latest technologies of the world leader Qualcomm, the most powerful chip for 2021, the Snapdragon 888, to well 16 GB of RAM LPDDR5 and 512 GB of storage space UFS 3.1 through a display with very high refresh rate, 144 Hz. And while the key specs are certainly important and hard to find elsewhere, the Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders stands out from the competition because of what's on the side, the classic details that make all the difference.
Smartphone by Asus and Qualcomm, technical features
The connectivity department, for example, is one of those to which it is difficult to make a criticism: there is the Snapdragon X60 modem that offers full support for 5G, both sub-6 and mmWawe (the latter technology that the Italian infrastructure does not yet support), but also Qualcomm Signal Boost and Smart Transmit technologies.
Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders is one of the first devices in the world to support Snapdragon Sound, a package of audio technologies developed by Qualcomm that can optimize both the playback of tracks (24-bit 96 kHz with very low latency) and recording (with HDR & 3D Audio Record), although of course you need Bluetooth devices that can exploit them. Not many, so Qualcomm and Asus include in condition of the true wireless earphones developed by Master & Dynamic compatible with all this "goodness".
The audiophile attitude of the Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders was certified by the technicians of DxOMark, which in addition to analyzing the cameras of smartphones deals for some time to judge the sound performance: the smartphone of Qualcomm and Asus received 77 points out of 100, enough to get the fourth position among the best ever.
