Chrome, how password management changes

Google is working on new tools designed for user security. New system for storing passwords and autocomplete

Google is developing new features to improve the security of Chrome's built-in password manager. The news comes directly from the United States and shows how much Google is investing in the last period to increase users' privacy. The changes are expected to affect both the password storage system and the user interface dedicated to payments and storage of personal data.

The changes are designed for the mobile application, which has become predominant in the daily use by users. Most of our personal data is now stored on our smartphones, from our login credentials and social accounts to the passwords and tokens we use for our online bank accounts. All new features are now in the testing phase, but should arrive soon at least in the beta version of Chrome. As usual, if the tests are successful the new features will be released with one of the next updates of Chrome, which occur every 3-4 months.

Chrome, improves security: what's new

For some time now Chrome has integrated a password manager very useful to store the login credentials of your online accounts. You can use it both from desktop and mobile and it automatically synchronizes with any device you use, just sign in with your Google account. The service works very well, but the Mountain View company has decided to further improve the tool and everything related to the world of security.

Every day on Chrome we send and receive tens of thousands of data, personal information that if it ended up in the wrong hands could cause us several damages, especially economic. For this reason, the developers are working on both graphical and functional changes to the security tools built into Chrome.

In the coming months, there should be new features regarding the customization when saving login credentials and a new system for payments. In fact, on Chrome you can save your credit card number and use it on e-commerce sites.

The autocomplete will also undergo changes to make it more secure and hacker-proof.

When will the new features be available

There is no sure date yet regarding the release of the new tools dedicated to security. For the moment they are in the testing phase and in the coming weeks they might arrive in the beta version of the browser. Before seeing them on the official version of Chrome you'll have to wait a couple of months.
