By June 20, 2022, the switchover to digital terrestrial 2.0 will take place. Here's everything there is to know for users
In view of the switchover to the DVBT-2 signal, a sort of digital terrestrial 2.0, the Government is setting up tax incentives in favor of families who will have to purchase a new television set or a decoder to receive television channels. This is an important step, on which the current and previous governments have worked for a long time to minimize the inconvenience for users.
To understand the importance of the moment, it is a passage that has the same value as the switch-off that took place years ago, when the analog signal was switched to digital. This time the passage concerns the technology used to transmit the signal: we pass from DVB T-1 to DVB T-2. Why is it necessary to make this passage? Very simple, the frequencies currently used by digital TV must be used for the new 5G network, now ready to start in Italy.
With the transition to DVB T2 also changes the technology used to transmit the signal. And many of the TV sets in Italian homes are not able to decrypt the signal. In order to continue to watch digital terrestrial television, there are two ways to go: buy a new TV set that supports DVB T2, or buy an ad hoc decoder. And for this reason, the Government wants to include in the 2019 budget law a fund of 151 million to facilitate the purchase of new televisions.
Digital terrestrial, when will the switch-off take place
The Ministry of Economic Development has been working on the transition from the DVB T1 signal to the DVB T2 signal for several months now. Finally, a definite road map has been defined, with certain dates for each region. - 1 settembre 2021 – 31 dicembre 2021: Area 2 – Valle d’Aosta, Piemonte, Lombardia tranne la provincia di Mantova, provincia di Piacenza, provincia di Trento, provincia di Bolzano; Area 3 – Veneto, provincia di Mantova, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna tranne la provincia di Piacenza
- 1 gennaio 2022 – 31 marzo 2022: Area 1 – Liguria, Toscana, Umbria, Lazio, Campania, Sardegna
- 1 aprile 2022 – 20 giugno 2022: Area 4 – Sicilia, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata; Abruzzo, Molise, Marche.
Come capire se il televisore è compatibile con il DVB T2
Chi deve acquistare un televisore compatibile con il DVB T2? Bisogna fare un po’ di chiarezza su questo punto. Partiamo da una certezza: tutti i televisori in vendita dal 1 gennaio 2017 integrano un decoder DVB T2. Per essere sicuri, bisogna controllare sulla scatola se è presente un bollino con la scritta Dgtvi Platinum.
Se avete acquistato un televisore prima di questa data, molto probabilmente dovrete comprare un nuovo dispositivo o cercare un decoder ad hoc.
Come ottenere il bonus per acquistare un nuovo televisore
Il Governo sta mettendo a punto un fondo da 151 milioni di euro (le risorse potrebbero aumentare nel tempo) per aiutare i cittadini nell’acquisto del nuovo televisore. Per ottenere il bonus per il digitale terrestre è necessario rispettare alcuni requisiti:
- essere residenti sul territorio italiano
- appartenere alla fascia I e II dell’Indicatore della situazione economica equivalente (ISEE).
Fanno parte della fascia I e fascia II tutte le famiglie con un soglia ISEE inferiore a 10.632,94 e 21.265,87 euro.
