Euphoria: here’s when the second season comes out

The teen genre TV series is back with new adventures for Rue and her friends: where and when to watch Euphoria season two

Euphoria season two is coming and Sky has announced the release date. The cult television series starring Emmy Award winner Zendaya is back with new stories that chronicle the complicated lives of teenagers in East Highland, California, amidst love, drugs and sex.

The series created, written and directed by Sam Levinson returns with a new chapter more than 2 years later. The last episode of the first season of Euphoria had arrived in August 2019 and since then the television series of the teen drama genre has been on hold, between delays and postponements caused by the pandemic. Now the filming of the second season is coming to an end and the teen drama series, which has become a real cult, will return to the screens soon. There's no shortage of new characters and new actors in the cast, including Dominic Fike, who will join the group of high schoolers looking for their place in the world. Here's everything we know about the second season of Euphoria and when it arrives.

Euphoria 2: the plot

The first season of Euphoria consists of 8 episodes of about 50 minutes in which the protagonist Rue Bennet, a 17-year-old girl with drug addiction problems, tries to overcome adolescence along with her group of friends from the town of East Highland.

The central themes of the teen series are the search for one's identity, friendship, love, the discovery of sex and drugs. Themes that will be echoed in season two, where Rue once again struggles to find hope as she tries to resist the pressures that come with love, loss and addiction.

Euphoria 2: the cast

The actors in the cast of the second season of Euphoria are Zendaya, as the protagonist Rue, Hunter Schafer (Jules Vaughn), Angus Cloud (Fezco), Jacob Elordi (Nate Jacobs), Algee Smith (Chris McKay), Barbie Ferreira (Kat Hernandez), Maude Apatow (Lexi Howard), Storm Reid (Gia Bennett).

The cast will also include Nika King, Eric Dane, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike and Austin Abrams.

The creator and screenwriter is Levinson, who is also an executive producer along with Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Will Greenfield, Drake, Adel "Future" Nur, Zendaya, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, and Daphna Levin.

The producers include Kenneth Yu, while the co-producers are Ashley Levinson, Harrison Kreiss and Julio Perez.

The series is produced in partnership with A24 and based on the Israeli series of the same name created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin.

Euphoria 2: where and when to see it

Euphoria 2 will also consist of 8 episodes like the first season, which will arrive on Sky and the NOW streaming platform starting January 10, 2022, at the same time as the HBO airing.
