Facebook introduces dark mode for everyone, both Android and iOS. Here are the steps to follow to activate the new dark theme in the app
The new and long-awaited dark mode for Facebook is finally available for both Android and iOS devices. Mark Zuckerberg's social network has introduced the dark theme for everyone, which can be activated from the Facebook app's settings in a few simple steps.
For some time now there has been talk of the arrival of the dark mode for Zuckerberg's first social network, as this theme has already been available for months for the other Facebook group apps, namely Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. In the past few months, the dark theme was introduced but only for the desktop version of Facebook and the Facebook Lite app. Ora invece tutti gli utenti potranno sfruttare i vantaggi dell’utilizzo della modalità scura: sia per chi preferisce affaticare meno gli occhi con tali colori, che per chi sfrutterà il tema scuro per risparmiare qualche punto percentuale di batteria.
Come attivare la modalità scura su Facebook
Dopo aver aggiornato l’app di Facebook all’ultima versione disponibile, sia gli utenti Android che quelli che possiedono un iPhone potranno finalmente impostare la modalità scura come predefinita sul proprio dispositivo.
Per farlo bisogna aprire l’app di Facebook e aprire il Menu facendo tap sul simbolo delle tre linee orizzontali in alto a destra nella schermata.
Scorrendo la schermata Menu, si arriverà alla voce Impostazioni e privacy, e selezionandola si aprirà un altro menu a tendina con diverse voci e bisogna selezionare Modalità sfondo nero.
Si aprirà quindi una schermata che consente di scegliere tra tre opzioni:
- Attiva, per attivare la modalità scura
- Non Attiva, per lasciare la modalità chiara
- Usa le impostazioni di sistema, che modificherà l’aspetto dell’app in base alle impostazioni di sistema del dispositivo
Per attivare la modalità scura, bisogna selezionare la voce Attiva. Se si vuole disattivarla, basterà seguire lo stesso percorso e cliccare su Non Attiva.
Selezionando invece "Usa le impostazioni di sistema", il tema sarà aggiornato a chiaro o scuro a seconda di quello che viene impostato come predefinito sul proprio dispositivo, sia esso Android o iOS.
Dark mode on Facebook: what it changes
Enabling dark mode on Facebook will make the whole interface of the app feature a dark background, but not black: so there will be several dark shades of gray.
The mode changes affect all sections of the app: the News feed, the Marketplace, the Settings menu and the Notifications menu.
