Fastest Android smartphones of May 2019: the ranking

AnTuTu has published the ranking of the 10 best Android smartphones of May 2019: the podium is dominated by Xiaomi smartphones

A Chinese domination. This is how you can summarize the ranking of the fastest Android smartphones of May 2019 published on its blog by AnTuTu, an application used by companies to test the power of new smartphones. As it happens every month, AnTuTu has published the ranking of the 10 best top Android smartphones. And in May is a domination of Chinese smartphones that occupy the first five positions. To find the first "foreign" device you have to get to position six occupied by the Samsung Galaxy S10+.

Each test carried out on AnTuTu assigns a score to the smartphone based on several factors: processor (the ranking is dominated by the Snapdragon 855 chipset produced by Qualcomm), amount of RAM, internal memory and software optimization. It is no coincidence that the first three positions are occupied by Xiaomi, which takes great care in the optimization between the software part (the MIUI 10) and the hardware components. Unfortunately, not all Android smartphones that we will see in this ranking are available in Italy at this time: they may arrive in the future, but there is no certainty.

The 10 fastest Android smartphones

We start from the podium dominated by smartphones made by Xiaomi. In first place with a score of 373.715 we find the Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer, a premium version of the base model that mounts up to 12GB of RAM and a plasticized cover. A short distance away (373,511 points) we find the Xiaomi Mi 9, but not in a special version. Not far away with a score of 371,837 is the Xiaomi Black Shark 2, gaming smartphone that mounts the Snapdragon 855 and has special features that increase the power of the processor.

At the foot of the podium is the Meizu 16S with a score of 370,306. In fifth position is the Vivo iQOO Monster 363,360 points. In both cases these are Chinese smartphones that for the moment are not available on the Italian market, although they may arrive soon.

You have to reach the sixth position occupied by the Galaxy S10+ (359,936 points, Exynos 9820 processor) to find the first "non-Chinese" smartphone. Followed closely by the "normal" Galaxy S10 (358,726 points). The eighth position is occupied by a Chinese smartphone: the Vivo iQOO, also here in "normal" version (354,138 points).

In ninth place we find the Nubia Red Magic Mars (310,612 points), smartphone does gaming made by the Chinese company and available for purchase in Italy as well. Closing the top ten is the only smartphone that uses the Kirin 980 processor made by Huawei: the Honor View 20 (306,289 points).

In June, the ranking could change its face thanks to the release of new devices: from the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom to the Nubia Red Magic 3.
