Good news for privacy lovers. Mozilla has launched Firefox Focus a new version of its browser, which promises to block advertisements and automatically remove cookies and passwords.
Unfortunately, only a "small" slice of users will be able to download the application. In fact, the service will only be available for Apple-made devices. Actually, the application is not really new: Firefox Focus was already present in the App Store as an add-on version, that is, it was simply an extension to be added to Safari. Now, however, by becoming an app, the tool competes directly with Cupertino's browser. Firefox Focus, inoltre, non solo protegge la riservatezza dei suoi utenti, ma aumenta notevolmente anche le prestazioni del browser.

L’applicazione per iPhone e iPad blocca i contenuti pubblicitari ma soprattutto l’ad tracking, vale a dire il tracciamento che permette agli inserzionisti di personalizzare gli annunci in base alle nostre abitudini web. Firefox Focus consente, inoltre, di scegliere cosa bloccare. Oltre alla pubblicità, sarà possibile stoppare anche i social tracker, gli analytics tracker e molto altro ancora. Bloccando questi contenuti, il browser risulterà anche molto più veloce nel caricamento delle pagine. Firefox Focus, inoltre, non mantiene in memoria la lista dei siti visitati e cancella in automatico la cronologia.
