Hbo Max has finally announced the official return of the actors of Friends. It will be a show dedicated to the TV series, with many international guests.
Finally comes official news about the reunion of Friends, the cult TV series of the nineties. Hbo Max has published the official release date: it will be Thursday, May 27. By now the fans had almost lost hope after, due to the pandemic, the show had been postponed over and over again. But the production did not give up and managed to complete this great return.
We are talking about the most famous American TV series in the world, followed by better than people: the last episode has even collected 52 million viewers only in the United States. On the other hand, the characters of Friends have kept the public company for 10 years, from 1994 to 2004. The reunion is designed to greet the fans and interview the actors of the cast. It will be a show of about 2 hours where Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox and all the others will chat and reminisce with the public those years. Unfortunately, due to restrictions related to the Coronavirus, Hbo had to wait several months: the filming was initially scheduled for February 2020, then it was postponed to August and again in September. But now the official announcement of the release has sent fans into raptures.
Friends reunion: what it is
The Friends reunion will be a real two-hour show where the main actors and producers of the series will speak, interviewed. So it will be neither an exclusive episode nor a sequel.
Cast and production will set foot after more than 10 years of the TV series' studios, Warner Studio's Stage 24 in Burbank, where all seasons of Friends were filmed. For the moment we still know very little about the show, but we are sure it will be a mix of talk, memories and laughter.
Probably, in addition to the streaming audience, a small number of viewers will be present live, of course respecting all the safety rules related to Covid-19. And it was precisely this virus that had risked blowing up the show: filming had been postponed several times.

From the very beginning, the main cast of the TV series said they were enthusiastic and ready to return for the reunion. So we will see again the main actors: Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), David Schwimmer (Ross), Courteney Cox (Monica), Matthew Perry (Chandler), Matt LeBlanc (Joey) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe).
Along with them will also speak the creators of the TV series David Crane and Marta Kauffman. But according to the latest news there will be important guests, big fans of Friends: from Justin Bieber to David Beckham up to Cara Delevingne, Cindy Crawford and also Lady Gaga, recently in Italy for the filming of the movie House of Gucci.
During the evening there will also be some actors who appeared in one or more episodes of the TV series: Maggie Wheeler (Janice), Elliott Gould and Christina Pickles (father and mother of Ross and Monica), Larry Hankin (Mr. Heckles), James Michael Tyler (Gunther), Tom Selleck (Richard, Monica's boyfriend) and also the actress Reese Witherspoon (Jill, Rachel's sister), currently starring with Jennifer Aniston in the TV series The Morning Show.
