Samsung has several surprises in store for 2019: the new Galaxy S10 with the hole in the screen, the Galaxy F, the first flexible smartphone from the South Korean company and the new Galaxy M range dedicated to those who are looking for devices with good value for money. But the news doesn't end there: Samsung is working on the new models of the Galaxy A family and we will be able to see them very soon on the market. From Asia comes news about a new phone: the Galaxy A40 that should be the successor of the beloved Galaxy A7.
The device appeared for the first time on the Geekbench benchmark platform, used by smartphone manufacturers to test the performance of their devices. In addition to showing the power of the smartphone, the test results also reveal the Galaxy A40's spec sheet: on board we will find the Exynos 7885 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device will be a mid-range device and will occupy the price range occupied by devices such as the Honor 10 Lite, Huawei P20 Lite and Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.
Galaxy A40, features
For the moment there are not many leaked Galaxy A40 features. But thanks to some rumors on the network you can get an idea of how the device will be. The only certainty concerns the chipset (Exynos 7885), the RAM (4GB) and the internal memory (64GB) expandable with a microSD. The screen should be 6.1 inches with FullHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The display will be the new Infinity-O with the hole in the top left corner where the 16 Megapixel camera will be inserted. At the back we find a dual camera with 20 Megapixel main camera sensor. The fingerprint sensor will be physical and we'll find it under the rear camera.
The 3.5mm audio jack will be present, while the battery will be 3500mAh and will support fast charging.
When the Galaxy A40 comes out
The new Galaxy A family smartphones should hit the market by the end of next spring: we'll probably see them on the market between March and April. On the price of the Galaxy A40 there is the utmost secrecy: it could have a list price around 350-400 euros.
