Samsung has officially presented the Galaxy A51, a new low-cost mid-range smartphone. Here are the features, release date and price
It was officially presented, but it will arrive on the market on December 27, the new low-cost smartphone Samsung Galaxy A51. As already widely anticipated by numerous leaks, this is a version of the A50 with an advanced photo department.
The date of December 27, however, refers to the launch on the Vietnamese market only: it is not yet known if and when Samsung will sell the Galaxy A51 on other markets, including Europe. If it does not arrive here it would be a shame, because it is a device with an excellent relationship between price, specifications and performance, which would sell very well in Italy.
Samsung Galaxy A51: the cameras
Let's start with the cameras, which are the most interesting aspect of this successor to the A50. At the rear there are three, including a 5 MP macro. Then there is a 48 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide with 123 degree angle and, finally, there is the 5 MP depth sensor for the now inevitable bokeh effect. On the front, however, there is a 32 MP selfie camera embedded in the circular notch of the Infinity-O display.
Samsung Galaxy A51: technical specifications
The rest of the hardware of the Samsung Galaxy A51 is virtually identical to that already seen on the Galaxy A50. The SoC is the Exynos 9611 (which despite the different name, has the same features as the 9610 mounted on the A50), flanked by 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of expandable internal storage. The display is a 6.5-inch Infinity-O, slightly narrower and longer than the 6.4-inch seen on the A50, and has a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels with a density of 405 ppi. The battery is 4,000 mAh, the weight of 172 grams and the dimensions are 158.5×73.6×7.9 mm.
Samsung Galaxy A51: how much does it cost and when does it arrive
As mentioned above, the launch date of the Galaxy A51 in the Vietnamese market has been set for December 27. It will cost 7,990,000 Vietnamese Dong, which sounds like a lot but at the current exchange rate makes about $344 or 311 euros. With this price, the Galaxy A51 comes out of the factory with Android 10 pre-installed and One UI 2.0 user interface.
