Every promise is due. And as announced earlier this month Google has released to developers its Android Nougat 7.1 version. To receive the update you just need to subscribe to the Android Beta program. Obviously not being the final version there are still bugs and not all devices are compatible.
This is the same version that runs on the new Pixels, but with many fewer features. The devices compatible with Nougat 7.1 are the Nexus 5X and 6P, as well as the Pixel C tablet. And Google has made it known that in November it will also be possible to have it on Nexus One and Nexus Player. Waiting in December for the final version, in the Developer Preview we can test some features, such as app shortcuts and the new keyboard. The new APIs have been finalized as Level 25 APIs, and the publishing of apps to the new level has been opened on Google Play so that updates can be made.
How to download and install Android 7.1 Nougat
If you are already enrolled in the Android Beta program, then your devices will get the Preview 7.1 Android Developer update right away, and no action will be required on your part. If you are not yet enrolled in Android Beta, the easiest way to test the new update is to visit android.com/beta e controllare se il vostro telefono o tablet Android siano idonei.

A questo punto basta registrarsi per ricevere Nougat 7.1 e provarlo, e avere gli aggiornamenti relativi in maniera automatica. Se invece si dispone di un dispositivo iscritto e non si desidera ricevere l’aggiornamento, basta annullare l’iscrizione del dispositivo. È anche possibile scaricare e far funzionare Nougat 7.1 in maniera manuale. Anzi, Google invita gli appassionati e gli sviluppatori a lasciare dei commenti o dei suggerimenti, utili a favorire lo sviluppo, all’interno della comunità N Preview o su quella di Beta Android.

Le novità Google non riguardano solamente Pixel e gli ultimi Nexus rilasciati: Big G, infatti, ha alcune novità in serbo anche per tutti gli altri possessori di uno smartphone Android. Ha fatto la sua comparsa sul Play Store l’app Wallpapers (sfondi in italiano), ideata inizialmente per i Pixel e ora utilizzabile da chiunque possieda un dispositivo compatibile. Grazie a questa app, sarà possibile cambiare automaticamente lo sfondo del display ogni giorno, andando a pescare in un’ampissima selezione di foto curata dal portale 500px. Ci sono diverse categorie, quelle legate agli elementi, ai paesaggi, alle città e anche alla vita di tutti i giorni. Molti sono aggiornati quotidianamente e una delle funzioni più interessanti è quella che ci consente di sapere tutto della foto. Dove è stata scattata e da chi. Così potremmo scoprire nuovi fotografi o artisti che ci interessano e iniziare a seguirli.
