In the list of manufacturers that have launched at least one smartphone in these first months of 2020 is missing only Google, but the Mountain View company is ready to add. The Pixel 4a, the low-cost mid-range smartphone, is ready to debut: according to the latest rumors it should be available for purchase as early as May 22. This year no official presentation: the coronavirus has forced Google to cancel all its live events and for the Pixel 4a at the moment there are no on-demand presentations.
As happens very often with Google smartphones, the Pixel 4a now has no more secrets, even if there are more than two weeks to its debut. Several online sources have announced the main features of the device, the design and even the possible launch price. The Pixel 4a will be a mid-range smartphone, with a fairly compact size and an excellent camera. The goal is quite clear: to compete on equal terms with the iPhone SE 2020 and to become a benchmark in the "deluxe" mid-range market.
The technical characteristics of the Google Pixel 4a
The Pixel 4a has appeared on Geekbench, the portal used by manufacturers to test the performance of smartphones, revealing to the world most of its technical characteristics.
On board there will be the Snapdragon 730 processor with to support 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, not expandable. The dimensions of the smartphone will be quite compact: the screen will have a 5.81-inch diagonal with 60Hz refresh rate.
The photographic compartment will be one of the strengths of the device. Google has proven in recent years to make devices that take great photos even without mounting a 48 or 64 Megapixel sensor. The Google Pixel 4a will have a 12 Megapixel rear sensor and an 8 Megapixel front sensor. The design will feature a hole in the front and a slightly raised square bumper in the back.
The battery will be 3080mAh with support for fast charging. There is no 5G network support.

Although there are still no official confirmations from Google, the smartphone is expected to debut on the market around May 22. As for the price, the Google Pixel 4a is expected to be around 400-450 euros, following in the footsteps of its predecessor.
