Google's Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are sold out and will not be returning to production. Google's popular smartphone has been "retired" with the arrival of the new series Pixel 4a. For those who want to buy the two phones before they disappear, there is still hope: some devices are for sale on Google's partner sites.
A surprise announcement for the loyal customers of these Google-branded smartphones. For several reviewers, in fact, Pixel 3a XL remains the smartphone under 500 euros with the best camera of 2020. With the arrival of the new Pixel 4a series, Google therefore turns its gaze to the future, appreciating its past and ready to move forward. To announce that Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL were "out of stock" in warehouses was the company itself in a statement to Android Police. And already for July 2020, after so many postponements, the Pixel 4a series could be presented.
Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL: where can you buy them?
The smartphones have disappeared from the Italian Google Store, while in that of the United States they still appear in the list, but if you try to buy it the answer is always the same: "out of stock". Stock sold out. However, Google has reassured its potential buyers, stating that both smartphones are still available on the sites of partner retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy.
Also in Italy, on Amazon's site you can still buy these devices. The price at the moment is 337 euros for Pixel 3a and 452 uro for Pixel 3a XL, but of the latter the site signals that there are few pieces left in stock.
Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL: the advantages of Google's smartphones
Although the options on the market are many, the Pixel 3a series continues to set the standard when it comes to the potential of its camera. The phone's hardware, over the past 12 months for those who have reviewed it, has also held up remarkably well, showing itself to be solid and well-made. Because of this, the now-retired smartphones represent a mid-range product that offers several advantages. Among them, also the constant optimization of software by Google, which make the use of the smartphone functional at its best day after day.
Pixel 4a series: early launch as early as July?
After several postponements, now that Google says goodbye to the Pixel 3a series, already by the end of 2020 could arrive the long-awaited Pixel 4a series. Rumors in the industry say that as early as July 13 Google could unveil in detail the features of its Pixel 4a, but to buy them we may have to wait until October 2020.
In the meantime we can anticipate some of the features already leaked. The new smartphone will have 4F and NFC connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, 5.81-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. Pixel 4a will be able to count on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC processor with Adreno 618 GPU and 6GB of RAM, while the internal storage will be 64GB.
Once again, it will be the cameras that will make the difference in its price range: a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 rear camera and an 8MP Sony IMX355 front camera, embedded in the perforated display. All this with a weight between 135 and 140 grams, a 3080 mAh battery and with Android 10 (or maybe already Android 11) operating system.
