Internet of Things is the real trend of the moment in the tech world. And CES 2017 is also demonstrating this trend. Smart objects, however, pose a serious problem for consumer safety given the ease with which they can be infected by cyber criminals.
Internet safety gadgets. While waiting for manufacturers to find a real solution for IoT objects and their vulnerability to hacker attacks, several companies are starting to create devices to go alongside smart accessories to improve their security. Primarily, smart objects are leveraged to receive a large amount of data that is then useful for generating a DDoS-style attack. Il Norton Core non è altro che un gadget per la sicurezza in Internet. Si tratta di un router di ultima generazione che basa tutto sulla sicurezza della connessione e sull’affidabilità della stessa. Questo non si limita a connettere tra loro tutti gli oggetti IoT in nostro possesso, ma al tempo stesso monitora il loro andamento e scopre attività sospette. Se un giorno, per esempio, si accorge che i tuoi oggetti intelligenti stanno comunicando dati in maniera anomalo vi invia un avviso. In più in caso di infezione su un vostro dispositivo impedisce che questo possa diramarsi nella Rete di casa e colpire anche altri dispositivi.

BitDefender fa un lavoro simile al Core. È sempre un router pensato per la sicurezza, in più però è dotato di apprendimento automatico per monitorare il trasferimento di dati degli oggetti IoT in maniera precisa. Inoltre usa la VPN per proteggere la privacy degli utenti e consiglia anche quali azioni compiere in caso di attività sospette. Per il momento questi gadget per la sicurezza in Rete non hanno molto mercato, specie in Italia. Ma il successo che stanno ricevendo in queste ore al CES fa pensare che da qui all’autunno diversi consumatori vorranno migliorare questo aspetto.
