How Facebook Film works, from today also in Italy

Facebook Film is a new service present on the social network that allows you to check the schedule of movies at the cinema

Facebook is enriched with a new feature designed for film fans and that has been precisely called Film. This is a section accessible to all users of the social network that allows you to check all the cinemas in your vicinity (by entering the name of the city) and the daily schedule. But that's not all. If the user notices an interesting title, he can buy the ticket directly on the e-commerce of the movie theater and receive it on his smartphone.

The novelty was launched by Facebook in Italy on May 29, 2019, but it was already available in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. The new section can be used by all users by accessing their profile from desktop or from the app. It is located within Explore and you just need to click on the "Movies" item to access it (the icon is shaped like a reel). In addition to the novelty film, Facebook from June 3 will release a series of new features for film majors: in the pages of new films coming out, will be available two new buttons: "I'm interested" and "Check times".

What is it and how does Facebook Film

Facebook Film is a new feature designed for movie lovers. Released a few months ago in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, Facebook Film allows users to view the nearest movie theaters to their city, the available shows and also the ability to buy a ticket directly from your smartphone.

To access the new feature you need to press on the Film item (with the reel icon) in the general menu under "Explore". As soon as you log in, you will be able to see the nearest cinemas and discover the schedule with the films. For each title there is a short description with the trailer and all the information about the cast and director. In addition, users will also be able to purchase the ticket directly online, in case the movie theater has an e-commerce available. Once the purchase is complete, you will receive the e-ticket directly on your smartphone.

Opportunities also for film majors

In addition to the new Movies feature, on June 3 Facebook will also release new options designed for film majors. If the user likes the page of a new movie coming out, two new buttons will appear on the page: "I'm interested" and "Check times" that will allow to stay updated on the latest information about the movie and to buy the ticket. The first test will be done on the movie Godzilla II King of the Monsters coming out on May 30.
