How to buy a Google Pixel 6 in Italy and have no problems

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are official, but they won't be available for purchase in Italy until early 2022: here are the viable ways to get one right away

Many Google and Android fans have been waiting months in a frenzy to learn about the Google Pixel 6, the first uncompromising top-of-the-line devices launched by Big G in several years, instigated also by the various previews that Google has scattered along the way that led them to be official.

Unfortunately, however, the two new Pixel will not be sold in Italy. Not immediately at least, but as announced during the presentation will arrive in "early 2022". A precise indication not so much, since the beginning of 2022 can mean January or February, or even March, who knows. It is likely that the speed with which Google will decide to distribute Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro also in our parts depends on the evolution of the crisis of the chips, which only increases the uncertainty. So many will be in a hurry to hold their favorite Pixel 6 in their hands as soon as possible, putting aside the uncertainties. Well, how to buy a Google Pixel 6 in Italy without having problems?

Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, how to get them now

To get Google Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro you have to look at one of the markets where they are sold. Excluding the impractical route that leads to the U.S. and the one that leads to the United Kingdom also for the possible customs charges, you have to look to neighboring Germany or France, where both Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are marketed from day one, benefit from the European warranty and where they start at 649 euros for the first and 899 euros for the second.

The best solution is to turn to a friend or relative who lives in one of the two countries. To buy a Google Pixel 6 you need a credit card issued by that country and a valid residential address. The "intermediary" will then have to buy the Pixel 6 on the official store (availability permitting) and then ship it to us in Italy.

Another possible option but not viable at the time of writing (it will be, we imagine, in days) passes through the local branches of Amazon, then the French and German. Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not yet available on the world's largest e-commerce, but they should be available in a few days: when they will be, you have to check if the seller ships to Italy and at what cost.

The third option is through Fnac, a French chain that has the new Google Pixel in catalog at list prices and that, fortunately, also ships to Italy. Shipments from October 28 for the available models (and at the time of writing are not many).

Finally you can take advantage of the various services that allow you to "bounce" the Pixel to Italy. In other words, you buy the Pixel 6 at the German or French Google store and you put the address of the chosen service (for example mailboxde.com or ubidoca.com), which, once it receives the smartphone, takes care of shipping it to Italy.

Better to wait until 2022?

Or you can opt for the official solution: wait until the beginning of 2022, as suggested by Google. It's true that you don't want to get the Google Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro right away, but you'll have the advantage of discovering how they perform in the first reviews, and being able to decide whether it's worth buying one and if so, which one.

Not to mention one more advantage: next year, in addition to the Pixel 6, the new Google Pixel Pass subscription could arrive in Italy with the phone included.
