How to calibrate and restore your cell phone battery

Calibrating your smartphone battery is important to solve some problems and keep your battery in good condition.

Is your phone not charging 100%? Do you want to know the methods to charge Android battery faster? Are you getting incorrect charge percentage reports? Does your Android smartphone or iPhone suddenly turn off even though the charge level was at maximum a few minutes before? If you find yourself in any of these conditions, you urgently need to understand how to perform battery calibration.

You probably don't have a clear understanding of what it is and what needs to be done specifically. In this article, one of the most comprehensive tutorials on how to reset your cell phone battery, you'll get all the information you need and, in no time, you'll be able to solve any problem.

Calibrating your cell phone battery: what is it?

It may happen, sometimes, that for different software or hardware causes the batteries may not be at their full capacity and, as a result, the system misinterprets the smartphone's charge levels. In particular, the icons that indicate full charge (100%) or full discharge may be set to the wrong values: for example, the indicator may be at 100%, but in reality the smartphone is at 50% and, sooner than we think, it may discharge.

If we find out that the problems are related to the hardware (which can be found by looking for possible signs of damage, such as leakage of liquid from the battery or strange swellings), there is not much to do: it is necessary to act at the hardware level and, therefore, go to a specialized center to replace the battery.

If, instead, there are no hardware problems, the other solution is to intervene at software level with the battery calibration, that is the reset of digital values of maximum charge and total discharge as close as possible to the real ones. This operation, also according to the advice of major manufacturers, should be done at least once a month to ensure the optimal functioning of the battery over time.

  1. scarica completamente la batteria. Per poter eseguire in maniera corretta la procedura è necessario scaricare al massimo il dispositivo Android o iPhone;
  2. riaccendi allo 0% di carica. Seppur il cellulare sia completamente scarico, essendo i valori sbagliati, probabilmente potrebbe esserci della carica residua. Prova a riaccenderlo e fai sì che si spenga completamente e non dia proprio alcun segno di vita;
  3. collega il caricabatterie. Una volta esserti accertato che il tuo cellulare è completamente morto senza carica di energia, collegalo e lascialo in carica fino a quando non ha raggiunto il 100%;
