On the Android version of WhatsApp you can re-download images sent by our friends and that we deleted by mistake. Here's how to do it
One of the most used tools by users on WhatsApp is definitely the sharing of images, videos and any type of document present on the memory of the smartphone. In just a few seconds (depending on the speed of our connection) you can send our friends your vacation photos, or a video retrieved from the Network.
All this content is saved momentarily on WhatsApp's servers, at least until the moment when a person does not download. After downloading an image, video or Word file, WhatsApp automatically deletes it from its servers so as not to overload them. This way, if you accidentally delete a photo you received on WhatsApp two months ago, you can't recover it in any way. After complaints received from users, the messaging app has finally made it possible to recover deleted WhatsApp photos. For the time being, the feature is available in the beta version, but very soon it will be released for all Android users (iOS users will have to wait a bit longer).
How to re-download deleted WhatsApp images
When you send a file to your friend on WhatsApp, it remains available on the application's servers for 30 days or until the moment it is downloaded. After that, it is automatically deleted from the servers and you cannot re-download it. If you accidentally delete a video you received on WhatsApp a couple of months ago, you cannot get it back unless you send it to us again. Nella versione beta di WhatsApp (che diventerà ufficiale a breve), questa funzionalità ha avuto dei cambiamenti: anche nel caso in cui un file inviato su WhatsApp è stato scaricato, sarà possibile effettuare nuovamente il download, anche dopo un paio di mesi. Dai test effettuati sulla versione beta dell’app, sarà possibile scaricare immagini e video che abbiamo ricevuto anche 3-4 mesi fa (ma non lo scorso anno).
Finora la nuova funzionalità è stata introdotta solamente sulla versione Android dell’applicazione ma sarà molto difficile che la vedremo anche su iOS, dato che non è molto semplice accedere alla directory dove WhatsApp salva i contenuti.
Applicazioni per recuperare foto WhatsApp cancellate
Se WhatsApp non vi permette di scaricare delle foto che avete cancellato per errore, l’unica soluzione è affidarci ad alcune applicazioni presenti sugli store online.
- DiskDigger. Applicazione disponibile sul Google Play Store, nella sua versione gratuita DiskDigger permette di recuperare immagini JPEG e PNG eliminate per errore dallo smartphone. Con la versione a pagamento si avrà accesso anche ad altre estensioni. Utilizzare l’applicazione è molto semplice e in poco tempo si potranno recuperare tutte le foto cancellate dallo smartphone.
- EaseUS MobiSaver Free. Recuperare foto su iOS è molto più complicato ed è necessario utilizzare dei programmi ad hoc da installare direttamente sul computer. Uno dei più semplici da usare è EaseUS MobiSaver Free. Nella versione gratuita sarà possibile recuperare un solo contenuto alla volta, per avere accesso completo a tutte le funzionalità sarà necessario acquistare la licenza del software. È disponibile sia per Windows sia per macOS.
