Today June 15 at 15:00 there is the start of the eighty-fourth edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans: in the race there will be 62 cars, a record for the French race. Among the participants there are also many Italian drivers and especially the Ferrari 488 in the GTE AmPro category.

For those who do not know, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is held on the circuit of La Sarthe, 13.7 kilometers long and characterized by a very long straight of 6 kilometers, interspersed only by two chicanes, where the cars reach over 300 kilometers per hour. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is open to different types of cars: there are the LMP1, endurance cars created specifically for this type of race, the LMP2, the GTE-Pro and the GTE AmPro. In the LMP1 class, the favorite is the #8 Toyota hybrid driven by Fernando Alonso, Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi (each team is composed of three drivers who must alternate during the 24 hours). The Spanish driver, after leaving Formula 1 and winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans already last year, is living a second youth in the LMP1 class.
