To use the PlayStation 4 controller on your computer, you need to install the DS4Windows program. Here's how to do it
With the arrival of PS Now in Italy, Sony's streaming service that provides a database of 600 video games, the video game market is ready to change. It will no longer be necessary to buy a title, but it will be enough to pay an annual or monthly subscription to the platform. PS Now, in addition to supporting the PlayStation 4, can also be used on the PC: just install the program and select a title. There is only one problem, on the computer you can only play in streaming and video games cannot be installed.
To get the most out of PS Now, the advice is to use the PlayStation DualShock 4 controller. The computer supports many different joypads, but with the PlayStation 4 controller, the experience reaches a higher level. To use the Dual Shock 4 on the computer, however, you need to install an ad hoc program. Basically, the PC doesn't support the PlayStation controller because of the drivers. The procedure to follow is not very complicated, it takes only five minutes to be able to use your PS4 controller on the PC.
How to use the DualShock 4 joypad on PC
The first thing to do is to install the program DS4Windows available on GitHub. After the installation, you need to configure the software so that the PC can recognize the DualShock 4 controller. In order to start the configuration, you need to install the DS4 drivers, which are present within the program.
Once the configuration procedure is finished, you can connect the controller to your PC via a USB cable or via Bluetooth. To connect the PS4 DualShock controller to your PC via a USB cable, you'll need a common micro USB that will allow Windows to recognize the device in a few seconds. If you prefer to use the Bluetooth connection, you'll first have to make sure that the PS4 controller is turned off. Then, activate the Bluetooth pairing mode on the controller by holding down the PS and Share buttons until the Dual Shock 4's light flashes. Finally, to pair the controller with your PC, you need to go to the Bluetooth devices section of the control panel, click onDevices and select the Bluetooth option in the sidebar.
How to play with the PS4 controller on Steam
After installing and configuring DS4Windows, you can also use the Dual Shock 4 on Steam, the platform used by many gamers to play games. To set up the PlayStation 4 controller on Steam you have to go into the platform's Settings and select the Controller item and then on "General controller settings". At this point, just select "Xbox 360 Controller" to use the PlayStation 4 controller on Steam.
