Sonego, on the other hand, will have to face again Granollers, a Spanish player already faced in the first round of Wimbledon. Finally, Thomas Fabbiano will play against the number four seed Dominic Thiem. The Italian tennis player, however, has accustomed us to great victories in the Grand Slam tournament.
US Open 2019 tennis: the favorites
The shortlist of favorites is now always composed of the usual three tennis players: Novak Đoković, Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal. They are the three undisputed dominators of the last decade and they start with the favors of the prediction. Federer and Đoković could meet in a possible semifinal, while Nadal has an easier board on paper.
Among the possible surprises of the tournament we have to keep an eye on the Japanese Nishikori and the Russian Medvedev who has just won his first Masters 1000 (Cincinnati) on cement.
