How to watch the 2020 ATP Cup on TV and live streaming for free

Find out how to watch on TV and live streaming for free the 2020 ATP Cup, the new tournament for National teams that will be played from January 3 to 12 in Australia

The 2020 tennis season starts with a bang. From January 3 to 12, 2020, Australia will host the first edition of the ATP Cup, a tournament reserved for Nationals that replaces the Hopman Cup and tries to challenge the Davis Cup, which has changed format since last year and has created much debate. The tournament is organized directly by the ATP and awards points for the ATP general and annual rankings.

Totally there are twenty-four nations participating in the ATP Cup 2020. They are divided into six rounds of four and the winners advance to the quarterfinals along with the two best second-place teams. Each national team should convene the two tennis players with the best ranking in the ATP rankings, but some have declined the invitation, while others have had minor muscle problems during the break and prefer to recover their best physical condition (for example our Matteo Berrettini). Italy is in group D with Russia, USA and Norway and the qualification seems to be very complicated, also considering the absence of Berrettini. But Travaglia and Fognini will defend at best the Italian colors.

The TV rights of the ATP Cup 2020 have been bought by Supertennis TV and the tournament can be watched live on free to air on digital terrestrial and satellite of Sky. Free streaming of the ATP Cup is available on the Supertennis TV website.

How the 2020 ATP Cup works

Twenty-four national teams divided into six rounds of four. The winners of the rounds and the national team with the lowest score and the highest score among the second ones will access the quarter-finals. Then semifinals and final.

Each national team should field the two highest ranked tennis players, but due to injuries and rejections this is not always the case. For example, the Italian National Team has called Fognini, Travaglia, Lorenzi and Giannessi and Bolelli (for the doubles)

Each match played assigns a score for the annual and general ATP ranking. The points earned vary depending on the ranking position of the opponent.

The ATP Cup Favorites

The big favorite is Spain, fresh winner of the 2019 Davis Cup and arriving in Australia with the best possible lineup: Rafael Nadal - Roberto Bautista Agut - Pablo Carreño Busta. He will have to deal with Serbia captained by Djokovic, with Russia that can line up two top 10 (Medvedev and Khachanov) and Canada with Denis Shapovalov - Félix Auger-Aliassime - Steven Diez.
