Huawei P40 Pro, the smartphone that challenges SLR cameras

The Huawei P40 Pro will have five rear cameras and two front-facing sensors. The main camera will be 64 megapixels. Expected release in March

After the rumors that confirmed the presence of the graphene battery on the Hauwei P40, news continues to arrive about the technical characteristics of the smartphone. The Chinese company is betting heavily on this device to give an answer to the ban wanted by Donald Trump and that is creating some problems with the release of new devices, as already seen with the Mate 30.

The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro should be the first smartphones to actively use Huawei's mobile services that will gradually replace those of Google. On this project the Chinese company has invested a lot of money to prove that it is possible to make Android smartphones without the active support of Google. Another point on which Huawei is betting a lot is the photographic compartment. The P40 Pro should have in the back as many as 5 cameras, with the main sensor of 64 Megapixels, a standard for top-of-the-line smartphones coming out in 2020.

Huawei P40 Pro, the features

For its premium smartphone, Huawei is thinking about a very interesting technical card indeed. The architecture is based on the Kirin 990 chipset with ultra-fast 5G modem. In support we find at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable with a nanoSD. On the front, there should be no holes or notch: the two front cameras will be hidden under the display or in the shell. The bezels are very thin and leave room for a screen with a diagonal of 6.5 or 6.7 inches and 120Hz refresh rate.

The other big news should be the presence of the graphene battery, first time used on a smartphone. On this feature, however, there are still many doubts. In the case the battery should be 5500 mAh with support for 50W charging. The smartphone will be released on the market with Android 10 and EMUI 10.

Huawei P40 Pro, photo compartment

The photo compartment is one of the components on which Huawei is working the most. After receiving the award of cameraphone 2019 with the P30 series, the company wants to repeat the success also with the P40 Pro. And for this reason in the back there will be space for as many as five photo sensors enclosed within a rectangular bumper. The main sensor will be 64 megapixels and will be made by Sony. Supporting it will be a 20-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens, a sensor for macro photos and one for depth of field.

When the Huawei P40 Pro comes out

The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro are the first smartphones post trade block that should not suffer from the absence of Android certification. As confirmed to the company itself, the presentation of the devices is expected in mid-to-late March in Paris and the market release will take place in the following weeks. Top secret the price, but unlikely for the Pro version will be less than 800 euros.
