Axios si è affidata a due aziende specializzate per ripristinare la sua piattaforma di Registro Elettronico per le scuole, ma ammette: online forse lunedì.
Il Registro Elettronico di Axios Italia non è ancora online e non lo sarà ancora per diversi giorni, a differenza di quanto comunicato ieri dall’azienda che prevedeva di ripristinare la piena funzionalità della sua piattaforma per le scuole entro oggi.
Forse troppo ottimisticamente, infatti, ieri mattina Axios aveva comunicato tramite il suo sito Web che contava di rendere disponibili i servizi entro la mattina di oggi. Ma già ieri in tarda serata ha comunicato che “le attenzioni e i dovuti approfondimenti con i quali devono essere condotte tali attività richiederanno ancora qualche giorno di pazienza“. Electronic Register: when will it be back online
The initial optimism of Axios has vanished because of the objective difficulties that any company has to face when it is hit by a ransomware: to unlock the data, unless you pay the ransom, you need the intervention of external specialized companies.
In this case, Axios has turned to Momit Srl and Swascan Srl, and to get the technical infrastructure of the Electronic Registry back on its feet will still take time: decrypting the data, in fact, is neither a simple nor a quick procedure, and considering that the Axios platform is one of the most used by Italian schools (about 2.500 in totale gli istituti che la usano) è facile immaginare che di dati da trattare ce ne siano parecchi.
Stefano Rocchi, amministratore unico di Axios Italia, ha dichiarato ieri all’agenzia di stampa AGI: “Inizialmente pensavamo di ripristinare i servizi dei registri elettronici delle 2.500 scuole italiane che gestiamo domani, ma abbiamo deciso di rimandare a venerdì o al massimo a lunedì prossimo. Il motivo è che vogliamo potenziare ulteriormente le misure di sicurezza".
Cosa devono fare le scuole, gli insegnanti e gli alunni
Tra le precedenti comunicazioni post attacco hacker di Axios una spiega la procedura di emergenza che le scuole devono attuare in caso di malfunzionamento della piattaforma. If they cannot access the Electronic Register, schools must use the Emergency Register, going through a precise bureaucratic process based on paper forms.
Teachers and students who have a registered profile on the Axios platform, on the other hand, must wait for everything to be resolved before they can return to writing and reading the Electronic Register. In the meantime, however, caution suggests changing the passwords of your online accounts (at least the most important ones: social networks, email and online bank accounts).
This is because, most likely, Axios users did what most Web users do: use the same username and password combination to access multiple different accounts. Hackers had access to Axios' platform data, so no one can 100% guarantee that user data wasn't copied before it was even encrypted.
