Scanning with your cell phone - how to digitize documents

If you want to digitize documents, you do not necessarily need a scanner. Smartphones, such as the iPhone, are in fact equipped with a scanning function in addition to the photo function. Find out what options you have for scanning documents with your smartphone.

Scan documents with iPhone

Apple has added a scanning feature to the pre-installed Notes app, so you can scan documents with your iPhone without additional apps from the App Store.

1. Start the Notes app and create a new note.
2. Tap the plus icon above the keyboard and select the "Scan documents" option.
3. Hold the iPhone over a document and wait for the camera to recognize the sheet.
4. Tap the shutter button and then adjust the captured image.
5. Once you are satisfied with the capture, tap "Keep Scan".
6. Now either take more pictures or tap "Save".
7. About the share icon, you then have the option to send the scan, for example, by mail or store in your iCloud.

Dokumente auf Android-Geräten digitalisieren

Um ein Dokument mit einem Android-Smartphone zu digitalisieren, brauchen Sie die „Google Drive App“.

1. Öffnen Sie die Google Drive App auf Ihrem Smartphone.
2. Tippen Sie auf das Plus-Symbol.
3. Tippen Sie auf das Kamera-Symbol, um die Scanfunktion aufzurufen.
4. Schießen Sie ein Foto von dem Dokument, das Sie digitalisieren möchten. Sie haben anschließend die Möglichkeit, das Bild zuzuschneiden, es erneut aufzunehmen oder weitere Scans hinzuzufügen.
5. Tippen Sie zum Speichern des Dokuments abschließend auf das Häkchen-Symbol.
