If you have questions about your child support application, you will need the corresponding child support number. If you do not know it by heart, you can also find the number on your bank statement. To recognize the number, it is important to know what format it is in.

How to find the child support number on your bank statement

There are several ways to find out your child support number. You can find the number on the grant slip, but also on the letter you receive from the Familienkasse after your application. However, if you do not have this letter at hand, you can also look up the child benefit number on your bank statement, as it is given with every bank transfer.

1. The child benefit number has a fixed format. It starts with three numbers, which stands for the family benefits office of the corresponding federal state. This is followed by the letters "FK". These again stand for "fixed child benefit number". Then follow again six numbers, which correspond to the actual number of the child benefit.
2. Note that you always have to specify the full number if you want to make an application or ask questions by phone.
3. The child benefit number can be found on your bank statement at the corresponding credit. Here, this is usually in the reason for payment. Achten Sie dabei unbedingt auf das oben beschriebene Format.
