Valorant: Ultimate explained - the agents' strongest skills

In Valorant, the heroes are distinguished by their four individual skills. The most important skill is called Ultimate and, if used correctly, can greatly influence the outcome of the game.

Valorant: Charge and use Ultimate - here's how it works

The Ultimate is located on the "X" button and is therefore also called "X-Spell" or "X-Skill".

• Unlike the other three skills, you can't buy the Ultimate in the purchase phase, nor does it automatically recharge via cooldown.
• The Ultimate must be unlocked for each use. You can see this by the small dots in the icon: When these are all filled up, the skill is ready for use.
• Filling up the points is primarily done by kills. In addition, there are metallic-looking balls distributed on the map: Interact with a sphere, you get an Ultimate point for it. After the interaction, the orb is used up for the round.
• The Ultimates are quite different in nature depending on the hero, for example: with Raze you can use a rocket launcher and cause powerful damage, with the healer Sage you can revive a teammate.

Since you can use the Ultimate of your hero less often than the other abilities, the timing wants to be well considered. Because of the impact of Ultimates on the match, the "Tab" overview even shows how far along everyone's Ultimate charge is. By keeping this in mind, you can prepare yourself for what can tip the scales at critical moments.
