The previous system is well known: Both fitness and freshness were given in percentages. However, Sports Interactive felt this was not realistic enough.

Football Manager 2021: Condition and match practice calculated and displayed in a completely new way

In FM 2021, there are therefore major innovations in this area as well:

• The condition of a player is displayed in the form of a heart symbol. The fuller this symbol is, the fitter the player is.
• The condition is calculated in the background by a variety of variables with a new system. Factors such as the running distance or the number of sprints play a role, in addition to external aspects such as the altitude of the venue and the weather.
• For fatigue, even travel plays a role. For example, a player who has just returned to Europe from an international match in South America will be correspondingly tired.
