How to watch Amazon Prime via Chromecast

If you don't have a smart TV, the use of a streaming adapter is an option. This can be, for example, the Chromecast from Google, with which you can also watch Amazon Prime Video. You connect it to your TV via an HDMI port. Then you need to set up the Chromecast and connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

If you now want to watch content from Amazon Prime, this does not work directly via the Chromecast, but via a small detour.

1. Make sure that your smartphone and the Chromecast are in the same Wi-Fi network.
2. Then you need to download and install the "Amazon Video App" and the "Google Home App" on your smartphone. You can get these for free in the Google Play Store.
3. Now open Amazon Prime Video on your smartphone.
4. Tap on the Cast icon.
5. Select your Chromecast in the list.
6. Now you can select a movie or series to stream to the TV via your Chromecast.
