Apple has been offering the possibility that you can charge your iPad without a cable for quite some time. However, this is only possible via special hardware that allows inductive charging of your devices. In addition, the Apple devices you use must also support the corresponding function. This is especially the case with newer devices.

How you can charge your iPad inductively

What is already part of everyday life for the Apple Watch and the iPhone is also possible for the iPad. The wireless charging of the device is done via induction. To be able to charge your device wirelessly, your iPad must support the corresponding function.

1. In order to be able to charge your device wirelessly, it must meet the Qi standard. This is currently not supported by most iPads.
2. In iPhones and AirPods, the standard is already installed everywhere. For this, various chargers are also offered in the Apple Store.
3. For iPads, however, these chargers are not yet officially offered, which is why you still have to charge the device with cable until now.
4. Alternatively, you can buy a Qi Wireless Charger Receiver Case for your iPad. This is available for various models. With this it is possible to charge the iPad inductively on chargers offered by other manufacturers.
