Cloning Windows 7 Hard Drive: Simply explained

Cloning a hard drive is useful if you want to transfer your complete data including operating system, all programs and personal files to another hard drive. Cloning your hard drive saves you from reinstalling the operating system and all your drivers and programs.

Cloning Windows 7 Hard Drive: How to do it

If you want to transfer all your data, including operating system, to a larger hard drive or a much faster SSD drive, cloning your old hard drive is a good option. After you have created the clone of your hard drive, your computer can be booted with the new bootable hard drive and you can work on your computer as usual. All your user-specific settings will be applied 1:1. Cloning the hard drive is also a way to create a backup or data protection.

How to perform the cloning process

  1. Connect your new hard drive to the computer or install the hard drive into the computer.
  2. Install the "Macrium Reflect" program and launch the application.
  3. Sie sehen nun eine Liste all Ihrer Laufwerke.
