David Attenborough, the English popularizer of science, friend of the Royal Family, took less time than Jennifer Aniston to reach one million followers
In Italy few people know him, but in the Anglo-Saxon world he is a star and now he is also on Instagram: he is David Attenborough and, at 94 years old, he set a record on the social platform. He managed to reach 1 million followers in just 4 hours and 44 minutes.
Attenborough is a populariser of science, the British equivalent of our Piero Angela. Angela, who is only three years younger, is very similar to Attenborough in the way he speaks, in the way he explains to ordinary people what takes a scientist years to understand and in the way he addresses the public, always calm and polite. The old school, therefore, never disappoints and does not even on Instagram Attenborough has made the record but where, however, our Angela is not there (his son Tree, however, has an Instagram profile that is connected, however, to Rai 1). Sir David Attenborough is an English popularizer of science and naturalist, who boasts an enviable list of titles of merit: he is a Commander of the British Empire, a Knight Bachelor (Sir), a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, a Commander of the Order of Companions of Honor, a Commander of the Order of Merit of the United Kingdom, an Honorary Member of the Royal Society and of the Zoological Society of London.
Naturalmente ha vinto anche moltissimi premi televisivi ed è stato direttore del canale BBC Two (la Rai 2 inglese) e ha diretto per diversi anni i programmi di tutta la BBC.
Tra le sue frequentazioni non mancano quelle decisamente altolocate: è amico personale della Regina Elisabetta II e di quasi tutta la Royal Family britannica. Ha anche pronunciato un deciso e ufficiale “endorsement" alle politiche ambientali di del Premier britannico Boris Johnson.
La preoccupazione per i cambiamenti climatici, infatti, è proprio il motivo che ha spinto Attenborough a iscriversi a Instagram.

In October 2019, Aniston, after a very long wait of fans landed on Instagram and in 5 hours and 16 minutes reached the one million followers milestone. The 94-year-old Attenborough, in late September 2020, took 32 minutes less.
