It's clear, though, that LG's interest is in providing the screens for the future device, not just consulting on how to build it.

How the foldable iPhone will be

As far as we know at the moment, putting together the rumors and skimming them thanks to reports coming from Apple's supply chain, the foldable applephone should arrive by 2023 with a design, most likely, a clamshell.

The advantage of this solution, compared to the other, lies in the smaller hinge. The smaller the hinge, the fewer places it can break. The design of the foldable iPhone, therefore, should resemble that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and that of the Motorola Razr 5G 2020.

The screen should also be protected by a new version of the "Ceramic Shield" treatment already applied to the iPhone 12. The foldable iPhone, therefore, will focus mainly on durability and strength and this suggests that it will not have a very elaborate design, to avoid unnecessary complications.

According to market research company Omdia, then, from open the foldable iPhone will have a size of about 7.3-7.6 inches. Finally, also according to Omdia, it will be compatible with the Apple Pencil although it's unclear if the Cupertino-based company is planning to market a specific stylus for the foldable iPhone.
