The Lupin TV series, starring Omar Sy, is about to return on Netflix. The actor will once again take on the role of Assane Diop, a brilliant man in search of the truth regarding the death of his father, which occurred years ago. His actions are inspired by the book Arsenio Lupin, the Gentleman Thief, written by Maurice Leblanc.
The Netflix story has been revisited in an original way and in a modern key, achieving a huge success. Arsenio Lupin, although not physically present in the series, influences its evolution. The series written by George Kay and François Uzan is set in Paris and is a mix of drama, detective and crime. The first part aired starting January 8, 2021, while the second part will air this summer. Meanwhile, the streaming platform has revealed new plot details. Lupin: the second part of the Netflix TV series
In the episodes that aired in January on Netflix the character of Assane Diop (Omar Sy) was introduced. The man was the cleaner at the Louvre museum in Paris. His goal was to steal a precious necklace and thus avenge the death of his father.
But that was only the beginning of his adventure: in the first part, the protagonist begins to investigate the link between the jewel and his father, discovering the involvement of a very powerful man in Parisian society and politics, Hubert Pellegrini (Hervé Pierre). Netflix revealed that in Lupin 2 Assane will be committed to find his son.
From the fragments of dialogue released by the platform, emerges the protagonist's threat against his enemy "If you touch my son, I'll kill you" while Pellegrini admits "The plan will be to use his son as bait. And Diop will come to us".
In short, it will be a race against time, where Assane, also thanks to his hacker skills, will have to find new solutions and disguises to find his child.
The series has a completely French cast and also includes Antoine Gouy, Nicole Garcia, Shirine Boutella, Ludivine Sagnier and Soufiane Guerrab.
