Mi Band 4C, inexpensive activity tracker: features

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the new Mi Band 4C in Malaysia. It is a European version of the Redmi Smart Band. Here are the features

The activity tracker market is increasingly thriving, in recent years these wearable devices have crowded the electronics stores and passionate a huge number of customers, especially those who love movement and new technologies. Now, after many rumors, the Xiaomi company has finally unveiled a new model, called Mi Smart Band 4C.

The device was announced in Malaysia as an innovative and affordable product. But despite the name, it would actually be a rebranding of the Redmi Smart Band. So the two devices will have almost the same features, but will be sold in different markets, at a very competitive cost. In fact, one of the strengths of the Chinese company's smartbands is the excellent value for money. News related to the device has been spreading since May, thanks to the Xiaomi team in the Philippines, however they were just rumors, while now we know the official features and specifications.

Mi Smart Band 4C: features and design

The device was presented during Xiaomi's 10th anniversary along with two TVs, 60-inch Mi TV 4A and the Full-Screen TV Pro.

One of the first elements that jumps out at you when looking at the official images of the device is its clean and dry design, with a very light body, vaguely reminiscent of the Fitbit Charge 3. The strap is made of soft silicone and is connected to the 1.08-inch color TFT display, featuring a brightness that can reach 200 nits. The screen is rectangular and angular, it is also embedded inside a black shell that hides, in contact with the skin, a sensor that can read the heart rate. In addition, we also find a USB port that allows you to connect the cable and charge the device.

The smartband is ideal for those who practice water sports, in fact it is waterproof and water resistant up to 5 ATM, which is equivalent to 50 meters. In addition, it has an internal 130 mAh battery that provides up to 15 days of battery life for the device. Thanks to the Mi Fit app, the device's functions can also be controlled from your smartphone.

Mi Smart Band 4C: functionality

Despite its attractive price, the activity tracker allows you to control several functions from the display, such as running, fast walking, treadmill, cycling, weightlifting or even free-body exercises. Also, as mentioned it has a 24-hour heart rate monitor.

It also allows you to play audio and all notifications that come to your phone. It also has a feature that monitors sleep, but it lacks an important function: the famous NFC module that allows you to make contactless payments through the device.

This model is therefore suitable for those approaching an activity tracker for the first time, while the more demanding can choose a more professional model coming soon to European markets, Xiaomi Mi Band 5.

Price Xiaomi Mi Band 4C

The device will be offered in four colors (black, orange, green and blue) at a price of about 99 Malaysian ringgit, which corresponds to 20 euros. Of course, we do not know the release date nor the actual Italian price and probably will undergo changes compared to Eastern markets
