Mi Watch Revolve, Xiaomi’s low-cost smartwatch

In November 2019, the Mi Watch, the company's first Xiaomi-branded smartwatch, was launched with a design very similar to the Apple Watch and running Google's Wear OS. Shortly thereafter, in December 2019, Xiaomi also unveiled the Mi Watch Color with a design and spec sheet very similar to the Amazfit GTR. Now it would seem that the latter is about to arrive in Europe under the name Mi Watch Revolve.

This is speculated by XDA Developers who found the reference to this product within the code of the latest version of the Mi Watch app. But since the name Mi Watch Revolve was still unknown, XDA engineers decided to Google it. It turned up a video posted on YouTube by a Spanish YouTuber with the unboxing of this smart watch. According to the YouTuber, the device was bought on AliExpress for about 90 euros. The Mi Watch Revolve shown on YouTube is identical to the Mi Watch Color sold in China, so everyone now thinks that Xiaomi is about to launch its new Mi Watch Color globally under the name Mi Watch Revolve. If the hunch is right, then, we already know what Xiaomi's new low-cost smartwatch will look like.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Revolve: what it looks like

Xiaomi's Mi Watch Color/Revolve is a round-face smartwatch with a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen. Full-bodied for the price, it comes with sensors and connections: heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, compass, barometer, gyroscope, accelerometer, and ambient light sensor. It also has an excellent water resistance, up to 5 atmospheres, and a high autonomy: Xiaomi claims up to 14 days. As already mentioned, this smartwatch from Xiaomi runs on Google Wear OS.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Revolve: when it arrives and how much it costs

In China the Watch Color was launched at a price of 799 yuan, that is 100 euros round at current exchange rates, but in six months it has already dropped quite a bit in price and today Xiaomi sells it at 699 yuan, that is 88 euros. As usual, it is not possible to make a simple currency conversion to know how much will cost in Europe a product already sold in China: to influence the final price there are also transport costs and, above all, taxes. It 's very likely, however, that Xiaomi Mi Watch Revolve will arrive in Europe soon at a price still low compared to the competition. A price that could even stop at 100 euros and is unlikely to exceed 120.
