Nokia 9 coming with iris scanner and super screen

The Finnish company is ready to launch a new top of the range smartphone on the market: QuadHD OLED screen and iris scanner. Expected for the second half of 2017

The rumors continue to arrive about the Nokia 9, one of the next Android smartphones that the Finnish company would seem ready to launch on the market. Nokia is back powerfully in the field of telephony thanks mainly to the agreement closed with HMD Global, a Finnish company that has taken on the burden of producing the new devices.

Until now Nokia has focused mainly on the development of smartphones with fairly mediocre technical features: more than a few users were disappointed by the presentation of the Mobile World Congress. He expected the arrival of the top of the range that would relaunch the company, but were presented the Nokia 3 (entry level smartphone), the Nokia 5 (mid-range device) and the Nokia 6, already launched in China in early January. But from the latest rumors it would seem that Nokia is really intent on launching as soon as possible the top of the range long-awaited: the Nokia 9.

Features Nokia 9

The characteristics of the Nokia 9 are increasingly outlined. The device should mount a Snapdragon 835 SoC supported by the Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The screen should be 5.5 inches with QuadHD resolution, while the photo section should be embellished with a 22 Megapixel sensor made directly by Carl Zeiss. The front camera, however, should be 12Megapixel. A big news will be the iris scanner to unlock the smartphone, a feature already seen on the Samsung Galaxy S8. The smartphone should be water-resistant and dust-resistant. The battery will be 3800 mAh.

Release date and price

To know the release date and price will have to wait a little longer. It is very likely that the Nokia 9 will be presented during the second half of 2017.
