Nokia’s new low-cost smartphone has a super battery

The Finnish company is preparing to unveil another low-cost smartphone, Nokia C30, which will have a huge display and battery.

While waiting to see again a top of the range smartphone with the glorious Nokia brand on the back (Nokia X50 could come close), the HMD Global company continues not to give up a blow on the cheaper end of the market. The latest rumors tell of work in progress to bring to debut a new smartphone in the C series that we will know as Nokia C30.

About a month ago the smartphone has been certified by the FCC, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, so it should not be long before its debut. To confirm this, albeit with less strength than the certification of an entity such as the FCC, the renderings leaked in recent hours that show the design, probably final, the next budget smartphone from Nokia. Nothing revolutionary or particularly different from existing proposals in the same market range, and it could not be otherwise given that the aesthetic solutions are essentially forced by cost containment.

Nokia C30, a design that's not very bold but very pragmatic

So the most recent renders show a Nokia C30 with a frontal surface with bezels that aren't too optimized, with a teardrop-shaped notch to maximize the display's extension at least on the upper portion, while on the opposite side there's an abundant "chin" that has nevertheless been used to make room for an evocative Nokia logo.

The opposite surface seems to be made of polycarbonate, which is consistent with the price range. No daring solutions here either, but pragmatic choices, such as the fingerprint reader placed in an area where the finger falls often and without contortions, and also pleasant, such as the circular solution chosen for the camera group.

Two colors with which Nokia C30 should arrive at launch: a white that from the images looks like pearl and a fairly dark green.

Nokia C30, the possible technical specifications

On the front of the technical specifications rumors seem to have outlined a picture already pretty clear of the smartphone Finnish economy. Nokia C30 should have a display with generous dimensions, even 6.82 inches it is said, with Full HD + resolution (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) with a form factor of 20.5:9.

Model and brand of the chip chosen by Nokia have remained off the radar, but it is said that it will be a six-core with maximum clock frequency of 1.6 GHz. It will not go beyond 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space, at least not in the variant intercepted by rumors, but there should be a microSD slot that will not leave unhappy those who had needs "large" in terms of storage.

There is always a lot of curiosity on the subject of photography, and Nokia C30 is expected to do the best possible in relation to the price range. According to the latest rumors in the notch will be placed a 5-megapixel front-facing camera while at the rear there will be a single 13-megapixel, accompanied by LED flash. Connectivity so-so, if only for the presence of Bluetooth only in version 4.2, but it is to appreciate the presence of the input for the 3.5 mm audio jack.

Appreciable the presence of Android 11 on board, surprising instead of the battery, always according to informants, should have a capacity-monstre of 6,000 mAh. This together with the very large display should have an important (and inevitable) impact on the size: 169.9 x 77.8 x 8.8 mm for 191 grams of weight.
