The story is set entirely in Sicily, where the young protagonist Sara decides to participate in a summer sailing course. Here, she meets her instructor, young and novice, named Lorenzo. It's love at first sight between the two, and they decide to start a real love affair.
However, when the summer ends and the two return home, Sara becomes elusive. In fact, she has not revealed to Lorenzo that she has a terrible disease: degenerative muscular dystrophy.
