OnePlus Z is ready to make its market debut: on board the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipset. The price should be less than 500 euros
Only a few days have passed since the presentation of the OnePlus 8 and the Chinese company already has another novelty in store: the OnePlus 8 Lite or OnePlus Z. What is it? The low-cost version of the smartphone presented on April 16. A smartphone designed for the mid-range and that should raise the ambitions of OnePlus in this area manned by other companies, primarily Huawei and Xiaomi.
The OnePlus Z (or OnePlus 8 Lite, on the name yet there is no secure information) is the successor to the OnePlus X, device released many years ago and on which the company bet a lot, but in the end was a half flop, so as to convince OnePlus to produce only top of the range. To raise the idea that the OnePlus Z can debut already in these hours or at most in the coming days is the same Chinese company, which on its Weibo account has posted an image in which it shows the image of a device that will be launched today. Although the product is blurred, it is clear that it is the box of a smartphone. And the only device that is missing from the roll call after the presentation of the OnePlus 8 is indeed the OnePlus Z. Here's how the low-cost smartphone from OnePlus should look like.
OnePlus Z: the features
A bit like Apple did with the decision to launch a low-cost iPhone (iPhone SE 2020, here all the information with features, price and release date), OnePlus also seems to be intent on presenting a cheaper version of its top of the range. In fact, with the OnePlus 8 the prices have increased a lot, up to exceed the psychological threshold of 1000 euros.
With the OnePlus Z the goal is to return a bit 'to the beginning, when the Chinese company produced reliable smartphones, fast and with a price significantly lower than the competition. The device should have a 6.4-inch screen with FullHD+ resolution. Under the body is the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal memory.
In the back there should be a triple camera with 48-megapixel main sensor, 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle and 12-megapixel telephoto lens. A 16 Megapixel camera will find its place in the front hole. The battery is 4000mAh with support for fast charging.

In addition to an interesting spec sheet, the OnePlus Z should also be priced below average. There is talk of a launch price of less than 500 euros. We'll see if that's really the case, we'll definitely know more in the coming hours.
