Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G will be a real top: lots of memory and curved screen

The more days pass, the more leaks arrive and the more first impressions become concrete: the new Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G will be a best buy smartphone for several months

A few days before the official launch, scheduled for December 10 unless last minute changes, we know almost everything about the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G. We also have the official renderings, published by the same Oppo, and we know that the variants available will be at least two (Oppo Reno 5 5G and Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G) but maybe even three (there is talk of a possible Oppo Reno 5 Pro Plus 5G).

We still lack a few details to complete the data sheet, but we can already say that this smartphone will be at the level of the top of the range 2020 thanks to a curved screen very good and a lot of memory, both RAM and ROM. Also important is the rear photo section and very fast charging. In short: we are talking about a smartphone with high-level hardware by this year's standards, which will be surpassed only by the next generation now coming. As the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 just presented or the Samsung Exynos 2100 coming very soon. The best of the (almost) previous generation, then, and therefore a credible candidate for the title of best buy for all the first months of 2021.

Oppo Reno 5 and 5 Pro 5G: the data sheet

We know officially that the Reno 5G will have a flat screen, while the Pro will have a curved screen. Most likely they will be two 6.43-inch Full HD displays with 90 Hz refresh rate and will certainly have the front camera in a circular notch positioned in the upper left.

The rear camera compartment will consist of 4 sensors, with the main one being certainly 64 MP. Equally certain is the presence of Super Vooc technology from 65 Watts of power, for very fast charging. Of course, both will be able to connect to 5G networks.

From leaks coming from Chinese sales sites, finally, we learn that both smartphones will be sold in 8/128 GB or 12/256 GB configuration. Memory at will, then, to flank the SoC that remains the real doubt: for the Oppo Reno 5 normal we speak Qualcomm Snapdragon 765, for the Pro of the Mediatek Dimensity 1000 +. The possible Pro Plus version, which does not appear on the official website of Oppo and may arrive later, would have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.

Oppo Reno 5 and 5 Pro 5G: how much they cost and when they come out

The launch date of the two new smartphones from Oppo is scheduled for December 10, perhaps even earlier. The leaked prices are 380 euros (at current exchange rates) for the Reno 5 5G and 480 euros for the Reno 5 Pro 5G. Prices on the Chinese market, of course, where taxation is lower and shipping costs virtually zero.
