Palm, the full-featured Android mini-smartphone

Palm launches a mini-smartphone with a 3.3-inch screen, Snapdragon 435 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Coming at a price of 451 euros

Palm is a brand that has written the history of telephony: it was one of the first to launch smart phones capable of offering more than just the ability to make calls. After several vicissitudes and changes of hands, Palm is back to make people talk about itself thanks to a very particular smartphone: it's only 3.3 inches big. At a time when companies are competing to reduce the bezels and increase the size of the screen (the standard is a display of at least 6 inches), Palm goes against the grain and launches in Europe a smartphone that will please those who are looking for a handy device and easy to use.

The mini-smartphone Palm mounts the Android operating system and is complete with everything. It has two cameras (one front and one rear), face unlock, the battery lasts more than a day and has no problem supporting any kind of application thanks to the hardware architecture based on the Snapdragon 435 chipset. The Palm smartphone, after having made its debut in the United States, was brought to Europe by Vodafone and in the coming months could also be available in Italy.

Palm Smartphone, the data sheet

It is not a top of the range and the size could not allow it, but the smartphone made by Palm (company now owned by the Chinese TCL) defends itself quite well and is able to ensure good performance. On board we find the Snapdragon 435 chipset supported by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, not expandable.

The screen, as anticipated, is 3.3 inches with HD resolution. In the back we find a 12 megapixel camera accompanied by LED flash. In the front, however, there is an 8-megapixel photo sensor that can also be used for facial unlocking. The battery is 800mAh and ensures an autonomy of about a day. Charging is not very fast: more than an hour to get 100% battery. It will arrive on the market with the Android Oreo 8.1 operating system.

The size makes the Palm smartphone perfect if you are looking for a device that is easy to use with one hand and especially comfortable to carry in your pocket. It can be a great choice as a second smartphone to use during a moment of relaxation

Palm Smartphone, release date and price

After debuting on the U.S. market, the Palm phone also arrives in Europe thanks to Vodafone. For the moment it is planned to be marketed in Germany, United Kingdom and Spain, but it is not excluded that it will be launched in Italy as well. The launch price of the Palm smartphone is 451 euros, definitely high compared to what the market offers in this historical moment.
