The highly anticipated new Sony console continues to make waves. Accomplice of the official announcement of the Japanese giant, which made known the name (PlayStation 5, in fact) and launch date (just before the holiday season, but in 2020), are back to turn the spotlight on the next-generation gaming platform.

In the Network, in fact, continue to alternate non-stop rumors and previews that see the PlayStation 5 absolute protagonist. The last, in order of time, comes directly from Japan. This time "the tip" is the famous Japanese gaming magazine "Famitsu" that, apparently, has published online a card that shows all the technical specifications of the PS5.

PlayStation 5: the technical specifications

The editorial staff of the Japanese magazine confirms the many rumors that have taken turns on the network in recent months. According to the journalists of "Famitsu", the PS5 will be equipped with a custom SSD hard drive that will allow access to data at very high speed, thus ensuring  a better gaming experience. On the processor side it seems confirmed the presence of an AMD x86-64 Ryzen "Zen 2" chip with eight cores and 16 threads designed ad hoc and, finally, the GPU, with a custom AMD Radeon processor based on RDNA technology with separate 3D audio processing unit and output with theoretical resolution up to 8K.

PlayStation 5: video card and backward compatibility

The most powerful PlayStation ever as declared by the top management of Sony, and it seems to be true. The PlayStation 5 will have a special equipment and technologically advanced thanks to the use of AMD Ryzen Zen 2 chipset and a GPU capable of reaching 8K resolution. Japanese journalists have confirmed that the new PS5 will be fully backwards compatible with all PS4 titles and will have PS VR and Ray Tracing support using specific dedicated hardware components.
