Realme X50 Pro, the low-cost 5G smartphone that challenges the iPhone

The Chinese company launches the Realme X50 Pro, a top-of-the-line smartphone with the Snapdragon 865, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on board. Price 600 euros

A top of the range Android smartphone, with components and technical solutions of the latest generation, including 5G, at a price below 600 euros. It's the new Realme X50 Pro presented in streaming by Realme, after the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona due to the Coronavirus.

This is a top of the range to all intents and purposes, able to compete with the best Android smartphones and with the future iPhone 2020, but with a price that is practically a third compared to an equivalent iOS and half compared to an Android device of more emblazoned manufacturers. It's Realme's pricing policy, already well known and much appreciated by users, which is also confirmed for the flagship 2020 X50 Pro that, like almost all top-of-the-line 2020 devices, is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC.

Realme X50 Pro: data sheet

The data sheet of the Realme X50 Pro speaks for itself: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, Adreno 650 GPU and support for 5G with eight antennas, flanked by 6, 8 or 12 GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM and 64, 128 or 256 GB of storage space with UFS 3 technology.0, Super AMOLED FullHD+ display with 2,400×1,80 pixel resolution and 90 Hz refreh rate, with integrated fingerprint reader.

To these "basic" features, Realme adds a good rear photo department: four sensors, with the main 64 MP flanked by an 8 MP ultrawide (with macro function up to 3 centimeters away), a 2X optical zoom (hybrid up to 20X) 13 MP and a 2 MP ToF sensor. The front-facing camera is 32 MP, flanked by an 8 MP wide-angle lens. For a total of six photo sensors. Audio is compatible with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio technologies and the battery is 4,200 mAh with 65 Watt fast charging.

Realme X50 Pro: how much does it cost and when does it come out

Still Realme has not announced the final prices and launch date in Europe of the Realme X50 Pro, but on other markets it is already on sale at prices of about 480 euros for the 6/64 GB version and 570 euros for the top 12/256 GB version. It's clear that with prices like that (or even a bit higher, given the higher taxation in Europe) the Realme X50 Pro promises to be one of the most interesting smartphones of 2020 in terms of price/output ratio.
