Restaurant menus arrive on Google Maps

In the United States, a "Menus" section has been added within restaurant tabs. Here's how it works

Restaurant menus are also coming to Google Maps. The Mountain View company is testing in the United States a new feature that will make very happy travelers and those who use Google Maps daily. For some users has been released the new feature that adds within the tabs of restaurants also menus with photos and prices of dishes.

From the images published on the Net, the new section Menu has been inserted at the top of the tab of the restaurant. The operation is quite simple: if you are traveling and want to stop for lunch or dinner, just press on the restaurant on the map and its personal tab will open. In addition to the basic information (name of the restaurant, street, phone number and opening and closing times) there is also a new Menu section with images of the restaurant's dishes. But that's not all. There are also user reviews and prices of each course.

Google Maps: restaurant menus arrive

Adding new features is one of Google's mantras. And Google Maps is proof of that. The developers of the map service are always ready to add new features. The latest one is about restaurants and is really very useful.

As you know, Google Maps also has POIs, points of interest such as bars, restaurants, museums, monuments and clubs. In the United States, Google has added a new feature within the personal tabs of restaurants. Each restaurant has a tab with photos, user reviews and the most important information. In this tab has been added a new section "Menu" with pictures of dishes and user reviews. This section will be managed directly by the users who will be able to add photos, descriptions, suggest the name of the dishes and check the price of each dish (this function, however, is not available for all restaurants). In addition, restaurants also have the ability to divide dishes into different categories: Appetizers, Starters, Main Courses, Side Dishes, and Children's Menu.

As mentioned earlier, the Menu feature is currently in the testing phase and only available to some users. If the tests are successful, it will be released in the US first and in the future it will come to Europe as well.
