After the Galaxy A51 is also coming the Galaxy A42, low-cost smartphone from Samsung with 5G connection: here's how much it costs and when it arrives
One of the most anticipated low cost smartphones of the second half of 2020 is certainly the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G. For a long time the rumors have followed one another, until the same Samsung has not officially confirmed the arrival of this model, which will be a cheap device but of good quality and, above all, with 5G connection.
Still uncertain some technical specifications, but even here the rumors are not lacking. Especially with regard to the battery, which apparently will be very large. Even the photo department will be respectable. The latest rumors about price and availability in Europe, however, are not as exciting as the first circulated in August. Initially, in fact, there was talk of a price around 250 euros, while now there is talk of higher figures. But, as always, rumors should be well weighed and compared with reality: in particular with the price of the Samsung Galaxy A51, a model with slightly higher features.
Samsung Galaxy A42 5G: technical characteristics
The latest rumors about the technical card of the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G speak of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC and 4 GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 690 is precisely the SoC designed and manufactured by Qualcomm for low-cost 5G smartphones and incorporates the X51 modem compatible only with sub-6GHz 5G networks.
The battery will be the highlight of the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G: a good 5,000 mAh capacity. With this charge the low cost of Samsung should arrive until the evening on without major problems, despite the large 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD resolution.
Very interesting also the photo department: 20 MP selfie-cam with autofocus and rear group of four sensors in total. The main sensor will be 48 MP, then there will be an 8 MP ultrawide lens, a macro and a depth sensor both 5 MP.
Samsung Galaxy A42 5G: how much it costs and when it comes out
At the moment it would seem confirmed the release of the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G by November. But the only safe market today is the German one, where the device will be sold at an official price of 369 euros.
Those who want to buy it, however, should not be discouraged: between the official price and the price "on the street" there is often a big difference. The Samsung Galaxy A51, for example, on the official Samsung website is on sale at 379 euros, while on many online shops you can buy it without problems at just over 250 euros.
