The cloud of doubts and mysteries, but also of rumors and indiscretions, around the foldable Samsung Galaxy is about to thin out: Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are very close to the presentation.
Officially confirmed the event from which will come out the new foldable Samsung: Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Official then the Galaxy Unpacked thanks to an image distributed by Samsung of which strikes the slogan Get ready to unfold that we can translate into Get ready to open them.
A reference not too veiled to the new generation of the two foldable on which rumors focus for months, and whose debut in August, in fact, had never been in question despite the fact that no official confirmation had come. Confirmation that now there is: the Galaxy Unpacked will take place next August 11 at 16 Italian hours, and will be broadcast live streaming on the official portal and social channels of the Asian company. However, the two foldable Galaxy will not be the only products to see the light in about two weeks. If what was anticipated by the rumors proves to be accurate, on the same occasion Samsung will present the two smartwatch Galaxy Watch 4 and the true wireless earphones Galaxy Buds 2.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, the expected features
This year will not be presented any Galaxy Note, but Samsung did not want to leave empty-handed those who have been using for years and with satisfaction the S Pen. Already Galaxy S21 Ultra was the first Galaxy of the "S" series to introduce support for the stylus, but it seems that it will not remain the only smartphone in the 2021 range capable of communicating with the S Pen.
Samsung's pen support should also arrive on Galaxy Z Fold 3, and it would also be in this case the first foldable Samsung to be compatible with the S Pen. The changes compared to the previous generation, however, would not end at this. First of all the chip, the Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm, octa core 2.84 GHz, and the presence, mentioned only by some sources, of a camera under the inner screen of 7.5 inches. Small disappointment for the battery, which should remain from 4,500 mAh then just like the current model.
It seems certain, however, that if there is a category of fans who should have more perplexity about the autonomy is that which belongs to Galaxy Z Flip 3, which according to the findings of the American certification body FCC would have a capacity of 3,273 mAh with wired charging at 15 watts and wireless charging at 9 watts. From the Galaxy Z Flip's equipment will be absent the support for Ultra-Wide Band that is used for IoT devices and trackers such as Samsung's SmartTag+, present instead on Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, the possible prices
For both we expect "small" prices. Relative to their predecessors, you mean: while remaining very expensive products in absolute terms, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 could be cheap relative to current products.
Merit the fact that the technology reserved for the foldables needed in the production phase is a little more broken in and therefore takes less time, and that the materials are produced in larger quantities and therefore can benefit from economies of scale. According to the latest rumors, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to fall in the price range between $1,655 and $1,741, while Galaxy Z Flip 3 between $1,045 and $1,110, when its predecessors cost $1,999 and $1,380 in list price respectively.
